ADAT is a Non Governmental Organization registered Trustees in September 1996, it is involved in the production and training of small-scale women entrepreneurs in the production of textile and related products. To date ADAT has 120 members with a strong team of six Board members.

Currently ADAT has only one office although it has members in three regions of Tanzania mainland. That is Kilimanjaro, Iringa (Njombe) and Tanga.
To contribute towards empowerment of Tanzanian women in capacity building through technical skills using local resources, provide services to groups and individual entrepreneurs operating small and medium business enterprises in informal textile sector in order to improve their social economic status is the mission and vision of the organisation.

The goals and objectives of the organizations are to address about marketing to the participants and enable them develop strategies for market penetration and steady expansion of their products and ranges. To contribute to the women and families incomes and poverty reduction.

The organisation mostly supports members of ADAT in marketing, sales outlet, provision of high quality raw materials at reasonable price, consultations, upgrading training etc.

Many People have benefited from the organization who are now entrepreneurs. Since 1995 ADAT started offering training to women in textiles business. The evaluation carried out in 2002, at various International Trade Fairs and other Trade Shows proved that many ADAT beneficiaries have benefited. This is because majority of them had high quality products, high sales and skills than others.

ADAT hopes to create employment opportunities to the Tanzania women through art and crafts development trainings and promote the Tanzania culture, tourism, art and craft products in the domestic and export market.
