Profile Jirmit Papyrus is composed of young Christians living in the city of Mallawi, a regional capital in Upper Egypt where good employment opportunities are particularly hard to find. Jirmit Papyrus makes hand-painted cards, bookmarks and other art on authentic Egyptian papyrus.
It is a company which aims to generate work for unemployed young people in the Upper Egyptian town of Mallawi, located approximately300 km south of Cairo. Forty-two workers, thirteen men and twenty-nine women, work with Jirmit Papyrus Group.
